Ideal candidate:
  • Looking for someone with a PhD or MS and experiences in gene editing, cell line generation and cell-based assay development. Candidates who are perhaps early in their career and are looking for a stable learning opportunity. Preference for candidates with a broad skill set (e.g., molecular biology, cell biology) rather than a highly specific focus (e.g., a single therapeutic area like ovarian cancer)
  • LD&C Bio-Assay CBA-ATO needs new talent with experiences/potentials in cell line generation, assay and technology development.
  • We propose to hire a contract worker with PhD to expand our capabilities.

Project Scope:
  • The development and optimization of novel cell-based assays ensure successful implementation and routine execution of these assays to support HTS, lead optimization, and mechanism-of-action studies for promising therapeutic targets.
  • Design, implement, and optimize gene-editing workflows in a manner that enables development and evaluation of cell-based functional assays supporting therapeutic target screening or lead optimization studies.
  • Investigate, identify, develop, and optimize new methods/techniques to generate reliable and reproducible data promptly.
  • Semi-independently plan and implement experiments, adapt readily to changing project needs and develop sophisticated problem-identification and problem resolution skills.
  • Maintain proficiency with the latest scientific literature and rationale surrounding drug targets and be an active contributor to the interpretation of results in group discussions.
  • Adherence to good laboratory conduct, documentation practices, and safety guideline

Basic Qualifications        
  • 0+ Years w/ Relevant PhD or equivalent (where applicable) 2+ Years w/ Relevant MS or equivalent 4+ Years w/ Relevant BS or equivalent Advanced and proficient understanding and use of technical principles, theories, and concepts to perform expansive range of work in a role. Basic knowledge of related and adjacent disciplinary areas.

Top 3 Must Have Skill Sets:    
  • Strong scientific foundation in the understanding and implementation of a wide range of cell-based assays (e.g., TR-FRET, BRET, Alpha LISA, HCS, luminescence and fluorescence-based reporter and/or label-free assays) with experience in the utilization of lab automation across assay development and screening
  • Track record of developing, implementing, and performing novel cell-based screening assays in microtiter plates to support early drug discovery research
  • Ability to design and implement gene editing (CRISPR knock out/in) workflows enabling the development of targets specific and disease-relevant cell-based assays.

Pay Rate  between $35- $40/Hr on W2 based on experience.
