  • The Computational Biology group in the Center for Technology and Innovation (CfTI) within the Precision Medicine organization at is looking for a highly motivated Computational Biologist with expertise in clinical bioinformatics, statistical analysis, predictive modeling, clinical data handling, biomarker & assay developments. 
  • This is an individual contributor role preferring experience within matrixed environments representing the function and requiring the development of methods and familiarity with clinical trials with a focus on autoimmune diseases. 
In this vital role, you will:
  • Support clinical biomarker developments and applications in autoimmune disease portfolio by formulating and executing biomarker data analysis plans associated with various stages of clinical trials
  • Conduct rigorous and impactful statistical analyses on clinical biomarker data generated from various types of assays including but not limited to cell assay, immunoassay and multiplex versions of both, flow cytometry assay, paneled DNA/RNA assay
  • Develop or apply appropriate computational methods for analyzing high dimensional data generated from medium to high throughput assays including but not limited to bulk and single cell RNA seq, whole genome and exome DNA seq, OLINK and Soma Scan proteomics, spatial transcriptomics, microarray, array and DNA seq-based genotyping
  • Deliver high quality analysis results with insightful interpretations and visualizations and provide evidence for biologists and medical scientists to make informed decisions
  • Mine and integrate relevant public data and database to provide more or new evidence for elucidating drug MoAs and disease etiologies, and improving biomarker strategies in precision medicine and clinical development

Preferred qualifications:
  • PhD or MS in Bioinformatics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Biology
  • At least three years of relevant experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industries with a strong scientific background and a demonstrated record of productivity and innovation
  • Working knowledge and hands-on experience in statistics and bioinformatics for pharmacodynamic modeling and analyses of multimodal, multi-dimensional and large-scale omics data including but not limited to flow cytometry, DNA/RNA sequencing and proteomic profiling
  • Expertise in R and/or Python programming and ability to perform complex statistical analyses and create insightful graphs and tables
  • Working knowledge in various biological assay platforms and their readouts for clinical biomarker assessments including but not limited to IHC, flow cytometry, immunoassay, qPCR, and clinical lab testing
  • Hands-on experience with statistical/machine learning for clinical biomarker applications
  • Capability to translate biological and medical questions to statistically testable hypotheses and meaningful statistical models
  • Familiarity with clinical biomarker development and applications in precision medicine and various stage of clinical trials
  • Familiarity with autoimmune diseases including but not limited to systemic lupus erythematosus, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel diseases
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a passion for science and technology, along with independence and self-motivation

Basic Qualifications:
  • 0+ Years w/ Relevant PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent (and relevant post-doc where applicable) 3+ Years w/ Relevant MS or equivalent 5+ Years w/ Relevant BS or equivalent. Advanced and proficient understanding and use of technical principles, theories, and concepts to perform an expansive range of work in a role. Basic knowledge of related and adjacent disciplinary areas.

Top 3 Must Have Skill Sets:                
  • Working knowledge and hands-on experience in statistics and bioinformatics for pharmacodynamic modeling and analyses of multimodal, multi-dimensional and large-scale omics data including but not limited to flow cytometry, DNA/RNA sequencing and proteomic profiling
  • Expertise in R and/or Python programming and ability to perform complex statistical analyses and create insightful graphs and tables

Pay Rate  between $44 - $50/Hr on W2 based on experience.
