Project Manager

Location: Remote - Thousand Oaks, CA

Employment Type: Contingent Worker (Contract, W2)

Contract Length: 12 months (possible extension)

Compensation: $44/$49 per hour (based on experience)

Summary of the Role

Lead high-impact, cross-functional projects at a big biopharma leader by integrating GenAI-enabled digital tools, driving process improvement, and steering organizational change. Partner with teams to transform business needs into actionable solutions and ensure successful project execution and adoption. This role blends project management, change management, and digital transformation expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, timelines, milestones, risks, and stakeholder communications
  • Identify, prioritize, and coordinate GenAI workflow integration opportunities in partnership with cross-functional teams
  • Drive implementation of GenAI-enabled use cases, demos, microlearnings, and adoption resources
  • Understand current-state workflows, identify process pain points, and help implement improved solutions
  • Develop and deliver change management communications, training, engagement initiatives, and adoption tracking
  • Report on project progress, implementation outcomes, process improvements, and business impact
  • Align initiatives with business priorities, responsible AI practices, and sustainable work methods
  • Lead Agile team ceremonies, plan sprints, monitor milestones, and ensure disciplined execution
  • Collaborate with business partners, Product Owners, and leadership to advance digital and transformation goals

Required Experience & Skills

  • Experience managing cross-functional projects or operational initiatives
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management capabilities
  • Background in process improvement, digital transformation, organizational change, or business operations
  • Ability to translate complex needs into clear, actionable plans and deliverables
  • Comfort working through ambiguity and managing multiple priorities

Top 3 Must Have Skills

1. Gen AI competency (creating custom GPTs; building agents to automate workflows)

2. Process improvement background (minimum yellow belt or practical experience)

3. Strong change management knowledge and ability to articulate experience

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead Agile ceremonies, maintain detailed project plans, and manage sprint activities
  • Develop and execute change management plans to drive engagement and adoption
  • Use digital tools to automate reporting, streamline documentation, and accelerate decision-making
  • Facilitate cross-team meetings, prepare agendas and notes, and ensure accountability for follow-up actions
  • Communicate program status, risks, and insights with leadership and stakeholders
  • Partner with Product Owners for prioritization, resource management, and engagement

Basic Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree OR
  • Master’s degree and 2 years of experience OR
  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of experience OR
  • Associate’s degree and 8 years of experience OR
  • High school diploma / GED and 10 years of experience
