  • Ideal candidate- BS/BA in a related discipline, include not limited to biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry/computer science/material science and engineering/operations research plus some project management experiences (2-4 years). Can-do attitude and willing to learn.

Summary
  • The Materials Science (MS) team is seeking a Project Coordinator to lead and execute cross-functional material data related projects and processes.
  • The role will be based out of the global headquarters in Thousand Oaks, CA.
  • The Project Coordinator will work under the guidance of the hiring manager.
  • The Materials Science team within Attribute Sciences provides scientific expertise and technical support to commercial, clinical and development portfolio.
  • One key function of this group is to integrate supplier data (both categorical and quantitative, discrete and continuous) into Amgen information systems to provide better understanding of raw material attribute impact on process and product quality.
  • The vision is to enhance the reliability of raw material through cross-functional collaboration and data-driven approaches.
  • In collaboration with IS (information system) and internal customers, the role will help advance ability to build and implement intelligent solutions in data integration and predictive analytics.
  • Further, the role delivers project management services in developing and managing business process to take action based on predictive analytics and ensure alignment of responses and actions across client and stakeholder teams.
  • This role involves abundant opportunities in collaboration with material suppliers and experts from materials science, supply chain, quality, regulatory and IS.
  • This role will expose the candidate to deep technical matters relating to material sciences, data analytics, as well as nurture team-based attributes focused on collaborative science-based decision making.

  • Required Qualifications
  • BS/BA in a related discipline, including ,but not limited to biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry/computer science/material science, chemistry, and engineering/operations research plus some project management experiences (2-4 years)
  • Strong computer skills, e.g., MS office
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Well organized, detail oriented and capable of prioritizing numerous tasks
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams
  • Good organizational skills
  • Be able to multi-task and function in a dynamic environment
  • Can-do attitude and willing to learn
