Software Testing Engineer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Create test plans and test cases based on business requirements and design documentation.

· Execute manual and automated system testing according to established test cases and procedures.

· Work with both the IT infrastructure and development team to identify, document, and execute hardware and software stress tests.

· Document hardware and software defects and validate corrections according to business requirements that meet the organization’s Definition of Done.

· Work with the development team to identify, document, write and track results from manual and automated test plans and test cases.

· Fully understand the functionality and objectives of the target software.

· Work with developers, IT Technicians, and the management team throughout all phases of software development.

Qualifications, Education & Experience

· BS Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.

· 3 - 6 years of software testing or development experience is strongly desired. Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

· Excellent team player with good written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with both non-technical & technical co-workers is required.

· Ability to multitask and independently solve complex issues.

· Highly motivated and driven by a desire to solve difficult problems and learn new technology.

· Working knowledge of testing software solutions using an Azure DevOps environment.

· Working knowledge of data driven software architecture and applications including validation of data integrations between systems including APIs, SQL Queries and Services.

· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical hardware and software requirements documents.

· Experience in identifying and writing test cases and test documentation.

· Ability to create and execute a logical sequence of test steps to validate software solutions.

· Ability to balance quality and attention to detail with an aggressive project delivery schedule.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Occasional work may be done in an ISO Class 7 cleanroom environment. Powder free gloves, facemasks, hairnets, gowns and shoe covers must be worn. Because smokers continue to shed thousands of smoke particles even hours after smoking a cigarette and these particles will damage our products, only non-smokers are permitted to enter or work in the cleanroom.
