Accounting Manager

Day to Day Responsibilities:    
  • Provide assurance that company product costs are allocated according to corporate procedures and in compliance with accounting standards. Oversee and manage cost control systems and prepare cost accounting reports for top management presentation. Manage process order settlements and prepare amortization entries. Analyze foreign-exchange rate impacts and propose adjustment based on historical and current rates. Prepare inventory and other balance sheet accounts reconciliations in a monthly basis and perform account analysis with explanation for discussion and revision with supervisor and top management. Prepare complex journal entries, collect supporting documentation and be accountable for the process to provide assurance and satisfactory explanations. Attend and participate in internal department meetings to provide work status and/or to provide information for specific situation as needed. Special project collaboration might be required with special assignments within inside team or other departments members. Internal stakeholder’s interaction is highly expected. Communicate findings with supervisor and propose formal process enhancements. Ability to demonstrate appropriate judgement, make good decisions, develop and maintain operational process and procedures and work efficiently with co-workers, supervisor and top managers. Provide support on other tasks as requested. Provide guidance and manage outsource provider.

100% Remote can be based anywhere within US. Candidate will be working closely with Puerto Rico team so they must be willing to work around Atlantic Standard Time.
Cost Accounting is a requirement

Job Details: Key accounting contact for several significant profit/cost sharing collaborations with other large pharma companies. This person will participate heavily within both internal and external cross functional teams in order to analyze shared revenues/costs and resolve collaboration issues. Will often establish and/or recommend changes to the process for sharing profit/cost data with the corporate partners. Will also need to be detail oriented in reviewing agreements and be able to interact well with legal personnel to interpret clauses where disputes exist. Additional responsibilities will include preparing and recording journal entries, preparing all invoices and settlements in accordance with the terms of the partnership agreements, maintaining account/variance analyses for the related balance sheet and income statement accounts, and preparing audit schedules in support of internal/external audits. Will have good analytical skills and the initiative to seek solutions to issues. In addition they will have strong oral and written communication skills to build and maintain positive working relationships with both internal and external parties.

Skills: SAP Cost accounting; 4 years professional industry accounting and/or finance experience;
Intercompany accounting, SAP general ledger systems, Analytical, detail oriented.

Education:
Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting with 4-6 YOE in cost accounting intercompany
MBA preferred.
CPA good to have.
