Job Description:

We are seeking a Lab Associate to join our small molecule manufacturing team responsible for execution of active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) production in our 100L scale up lab (SUL). The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of lab support for the advancement of early phase synthetic pipeline. Core responsibilities include assisting in of synthetic processes under the supervision of senior team members including equipment setup, maintenance and cleaning. Additional responsibilities include qualification of new equipment, managing raw material workflows, and supporting the operational needs of the scale up facility. The candidate will collaborate closely with our team of chemists, engineers, and analysts.

Additional Responsibilities:
• Coordinate preventative maintenance, calibration, daily system initializations, and repair service of equipment and instruments
• Maintain analytical instrumentation, lab automation tools, reactor equipment and order parts/accessories
• Support laboratory/equipment software installations and upgrades/updates
• Maintain online tracking tool to manage instrument usage and operational status
• Help ensure general tidiness of facility and adherence to 5S principles
• Initiate work orders for equipment repairs, maintenance, installation, and removal
• Clean/decontaminate equipment and hood surfaces contaminated with hazardous materials
• Participate in regularly scheduled lab cleanout activities
• Order and organize laboratory reagents and consumables to support the lab
• Generate purchase orders, chemical shipping documents and equipment orders
• Handle incoming/outgoing shipments of tools, ancillary processing equipment, consumables and chemicals

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in life sciences & 1 year of hands on scientific lab experience

Preferred qualifications:
• BS or MS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field with 2+ years relevant experience
• Trained in basic lab safety and chemical handling techniques including weighing, dispensing, and packaging of synthetic chemicals
• Familiarity with organic chemistry/analytical chemistry laboratory techniques, good laboratory documentation practices
• PPE familiarity and ability to use a chemical respirator
• Working conditions include extensive walking and or standing, ability to lift, push/ pull up to 35 pounds consistently
• Work safely with potentially high hazard chemicals per EHS guidelines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Basic Microsoft office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PP)
• Advanced scientific/technical reading/writing skills, advanced scientific analysis skills, ability to collaborate and work in team environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
