Day to Day Responsibilities: 

Areas of responsibility include:
Create enhanced 'clickable' prototypes (low-fidelity and/or high-fidelity) demonstrating the intended functionality and behavior of user interactions in a clear and concise manner to be consumed by stakeholders for approval and ultimately the development team for production
Plan and conduct user research and task-based usability reviews to gain insights used to improve UX/UI design, develop personas, build journey maps, or create other user-focused outputs
Conduct comparative design reviews and/or heuristic evaluations, and develop associated findings and recommendations
Own and maintain a design component system, library of assets, patterns, and usage rules to enhance design consistency to support engineering efforts and requests with ease and accuracy
Expand and leverage product-specific information architecture and detailed sitemap to maintain a clear product structure over time
Prepare and present materials aimed at educating internal partners on core UX principles, models, techniques, and emerging trends

Job Summary


The Senior User Experience/User Interface (UX/UI) Designer applies their experience and knowledge to develop a variety of UX/UI design deliverable s on their own or as part of a product team. The individual in this role will establish and maintain effective work habits, produce high quality UX/UI artifacts and advice, and confidently interact with a variety of internal partners.
The Senior UX/UI Designer is a key member of the Amgen team, who influences through direct involvement on various internal engagements, so that the products and digital solutions delivered are highly usable. The individual in this role will collaborate with business analyst(s), developer(s), business users, and product owners to fully understand user needs, envision solution options, evaluate designs, determine specific UX/UI design choices, prioritize features, and/or identify future improvements.

Basic Qualifications:

Masters Degree
Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of directly related experience
Associate's degree and 6 years of directly related experience
High school diploma/GED and 8 years of directly related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional experience as a UX/UI designer with a demonstrated ability to conduct user research, build wireframes and prototypes, conceptualize visual designs, and facilitate usability reviews
Skilled with tools such as Adobe XD, InVision, Sketch, and familiarity with Salesforce platform
Executed Salesforce communities based projects with deep understanding of what can be delivered in the Salesforce eco system(especially Salesforce communities)
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft high-quality outcomes, effectively rationalize design decisions, and clarify UX requirements to product owners
Desire to work as a member of an agile product team and collaborate with software engineers, business analysts, Amgen internal UX team, and other key partners
Creative problem-solver who proposes solid design options rooted in a deep understanding of user needs and context
Intellectual curiosity coupled with quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, aimed at advancing effective user-centered solutions
Minimal domestic US travel may be required
