Day to Day Responsibilities:    
  • The HEOR Project Specialist, in collaboration with the assigned GHE team and finance operation lead, will facilitate financial / Contracting, Health Economics Project and Publication Support , and project management
  • Full title: Health Economics and Outcomes Research Specialist
  • MUST have a Master of Public Health Degree
  • The Health Economic and Outcomes Research (HEOR) Project Specialist is responsible for managing the strategic planning, project initiation and execution, finance, contracting and publication processes for a team of health outcomes and economic researchers. 
  • The Project Specialist provides operational and tactical support to the Global Health Economics (GHE) team and facilitates the planning and execution of GHE research plans within the GHE department. 
  • The Project Specialist is responsible for facilitating the planning and execution of real-world evidence projects, including prospective and retrospective epidemiological (observation, non-interventional) studies, patient-reported outcome as well as systematic reviews and other studies to inform value evidence generation. 
  • This role interfaces in a cross-functional matrix with product facing functional groups such as clinical development, medical affairs, epidemiology, access & reimbursement, and biostatistics groups, as well as finance, compliance and law groups. 
  • The individual is expected to support initiation, planning, execution, maintenance, and closing of GHE projects. 
  • The position will also highlight risks, timeline delays and other issues. 
  • The candidate will be a team player with well-developed skills for gaining the cooperation of others and ensuring effective communication among team members. S/he will develop and/or refine systems to increase efficiencies in research and processes for the GHE team and department.
Key Responsibilities Include:

Financial / Contracting:
  • Manage GHE team contracting, budget planning, finance reporting, and invoice tracking/reconciliation activities.
  • Interface and liaison with finance, contracting, legal, compliance and other functional groups
  • Assist in development and requests for proposals from approved and other vendors; manage competitive bids for projects and support/evaluate vendor qualifications for specific projects. 
  • Example HEOR projects include (epidemiology) studies, modeling, literature reviews, global value dossiers, publications, Health Technology Assessment submissions, US formulary submissions.
  • Vendor and OL management, including, but not limited to
  • Initiating vendor confidentiality agreements,
  • Contract agreements and payments,
  • Day to day vendor oversight and management
  • Overall management of timelines, deliverables and budget
Health Economic Project and Publication Support:
  • Assists with risk mitigation planning
  • Preparation and submission of protocols and other documentation to review committees
  • Manage publications, publication tracking and reporting and publication compliance procedures
  • Support slide deck development & editing for team project and budget presentations
  • Provide meeting management and facilitation support to the study teams to ensure projects and plans move forward
Project Management:
  • Participate in the development of high-quality project plans, including timelines, and ensures alignment between overall program strategy and cross-functional plans
  • Communicates program status through monthly dashboards and other reporting materials. Includes collecting information and ensuring accuracy of reports
  • Ensure alignment (avoid project duplication) with cross-functional partners
  • Escalates project issues and risk mitigations to GHE Study Leads in a timely manner
  • Develop and update GHE Handbook as requested by the GHE Finance Lead
  • Develop and maintain online document repository to store and organize documentso Assist with developing meeting agendas, participate and take meeting minutes at designated meetings
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of MPH with 0-2 years of experience in a research, operations, or project management role
  • Highly organized with strong attention to details
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact successfully with cross-functional key stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Self-motivated with strong work ethic
  • Able to work independently to manage work priorities and follow tasks through to completion
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects and meet timelines
  • Good familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint and other common business software programs
  • Strong ability in documentation, meeting minutes, slide presentation development
