Top 3 Must Have Skills

Lacked industry experience (academic research)
Most resumes lack any real detail of data analysis/ML experience and for example terms like ‘performed complex analysis’ do not represent the candidates well to a role in statistics. The role will take substantial training to get up to speed so we also consider how long they have remained in positions.
We interviewed 3 candidates towards the end of last year. 2 lacked strong statistical grounding when questioned and 1 looked promising but took another position.
For example a candidate with the right type of academic research (in centralized statistical monitoring) would be of interest.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

Within the first 30 days a successful placement will fully understand how Amgen performs Centralized Statistical Monitoring (CSM) and able to perform the activities independently.
