Day to Day Responsibilities:
  • Maintain lab stocks of human iPSC lines
  • QC of cells by mycoplasma testing, karyotyping, gene expression analysis and flow cytometry
  • Expansion and banking of cellular cryostocks
  • Support iPSC differentiation and genome editing studies
Summary:
Ideal candidate has MS degree in cell biology with minimum of 3 - 5 year experience in stem cell research, extensive experience culturing and differentiating human iPSC’s, Co-author on publications.
 
Amgen’s Translational Systems Biology group in Cambridge, MA focuses on leveraging cutting edge in vitro models to translate human genetics discoveries into predictive drug safety insights. In modeling various aspects of human health and physiology, we rely heavily on human iPSC-derived cell systems. We are actively seeking a talented stem cell biologist to support our growth in these activities. A successful candidate will have a deep understanding of stem cell biology and extensive experience culturing and differentiating human iPSCs.
 
Basic Qualifications:
Master’s degree
OR
Bachelor degree and 2 years of research experience
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree in cell biology or related discipline
  • Demonstrated expertise in stem cell biology and cell culture
  • Proficiency in basic molecular biology techniques
  • Ability to support team work reliably
  • Highly organized and accomplished at documenting lab activities
  • Comfort in working in a highly interactive and vibrant environment and a passion for teamwork
