Day to Day Responsibilities:
  • Program manager for Research’s Productivity Program, with a strong understanding of financial tracking and reporting
  • Serve as the primary point of communication for assigned initiatives leveraging best practices on communication strategy and tools with the desired results to provide appropriate level and cadence to the right target audience.
  • Influence a high performing team with diverse backgrounds and opinions to deliver on initiative goals
  • Manage and escalate issues that could derail the initiative goals
  • Guide implementation team to success by implementing the initiative goals leveraging project management best practices (includes risk assessment if project goes off-track) as well as a communication plan to report the initiative results to the governance team
  • Liaise with Amgen stakeholders across functions
  • Manage projects within established scope, schedule, and budget, aligning project tactics with project strategy
  • Facilitate effective project meetings, manage change and conflict in a matrix environment
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and motivate all project stakeholders to gain alignment on project goals and deliverables
Ideal Candidate
  •  5-10 yrs. experience with project management, PMP cert, MUST come from the Research & Developments space, Strong understanding of other functions relevant to the position which may include Preclinical, Clinical, Regulatory, Sourcing, Budget and Finance.
  •  Demonstrated experience in planning, project management, and organization with the ability to lead multiple activities and resources while maintaining a focus on quality. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively (verbal and written) with various stakeholders
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Finance with 10+ years in a biotech or pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong understanding of other functions relevant to the position which may include Preclinical, Clinical, Regulatory, Sourcing, Budget and Finance
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, project management, and organization with the ability to lead multiple activities and resources while maintaining a focus on quality
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively (verbal and written) with various stakeholders
  • Ability to apply critical thinking, skills and knowledge to solve issues
  • Self-directed, flexible to adapt to a dynamic environment, and resourceful
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and build relationships with a broad spectrum of audiences
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree (MSc or higher) and 5+ year experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical industry
  • Preference for candidates with familiarity in early discovery research and translational medicine
  • Formal project management training (e.g. PMP) preferred
  • Proven ability to grasp general knowledge of multiple disciplines
  •  Basic Educational Requirement
  •  High-school diploma or GED
