Day to Day Responsibilities:   
  • Get up to speed on Amgen SOPs
  • Become familiar with Amgen payment systems
  •  Begin adjudicating invoices / expense reimbursement requests and appropriately escalating possible issues when seeny.
Summary:
  • As a member of the US Healthcare Compliance Operations & Effectiveness team, the Compliance Associate will be responsible for the review, reconciliation and processing of payments into Salesforce C3 (the Compliance system of record) for services performed by Healthcare Providers and Patient Service Providers.
  • This position will frequently interface cross-functionally to provide guidance on relevant SOPs, Policies, including Amgen’s Travel Reimbursement Policy, and applicable state and federal laws as they relate to payments made to members of the Healthcare Community.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Performs extensive Compliance reviews of invoices and expense reimbursement requests related to Consulting Agreements and Advisory Boards, ensuring that contract terms are fulfilled and expenses are appropriate and reimbursable according to the contract, Amgen’s Travel Reimbursement Policy and relevant SOPs
  • Provides guidance and direction to the business to resolve exception issues based on contract terms and conditions, insufficient supporting documentation, and/or blocked vendor records
  • Reviews and approves daily reports generated by Salesforce C3 and uploaded to Accounts Payable and triages duplicate, returned, failed or rejected payments
  • Researches and responds to payment status inquiries from the business, vendors and members of the Healthcare Community by interfacing with Accounts Payable and/or performing basic searches in Amgen’s accounting system of record, SAP
  • Reviews and approves daily reports from Accounts Payable and triages payment errors
  • Reviews and processes for payment exhibit requests made by non-Commercial Field Staff
  • Reviews and approves requests to provide meals to federal government employees, ensuring meal limits are adhered to and that meals are provided only in accordance with applicable laws and relevant SOPs
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
OR
Associate’s degree and 4 years of Compliance or Finance experience
OR
High School Diploma/GED and 6 years of Compliance or Finance experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in biotech / pharma industry, managed care or healthcare consulting
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams within a global company
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Excellent project management, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication, planning, and writing skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (filters, VLOOKUP, formulas), and DocuSign
  • Previous experience in administrative support, finance, accounting and/or with processing invoices
