Sr Associate Contracts & Pricing

Day to Day Responsibilities:
  • Member of the Government Programs (GP) organization within Strategic Pricing and Contracting (SPC).
  • As a member of the GP team, the Sr. Associate, Contracts & Pricing is central to ensuring Amgen’s success in the Government Healthcare Markets including Medicaid and Medicare.
  • The Government Healthcare Markets cover a substantial portion of Amgen patients.
  • Support the Medicare/Medicaid Pricing and VA/State Reporting teams within Government Programs
  • Execute monthly and quarterly government pricing calculations in the Amgen’s Contracts and Pricing System in accordance with documented policies and procedures.
  • Perform analysis of government pricing calculation results to validate and explain variances over prior periods.
  • Execute internal control processes designed to analyze and validate data utilized with a focus on identifying outliers.
  • Assist with setup and validation of bundles within Amgen’s Contracts and Pricing System.
  • Ensure system and process controls are performed and properly documented.
  • Submit pricing calculations to government agencies in compliance with regulations.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance the quality of the analytics performed by the team.
  • Routinely interact with cross functional peers, committees, and teams.
  • Champion and influence organizational change and education through daily behavior.

Qualifications
  •  Master’s degree
  •  Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience in either government pricing, commercial contracting and/or pricing, finance, accounting, auditing, compliance, analytics, and/or sales operations
  •  Associate’s degree and 6 years of experience in either government pricing, commercial contracting and/or pricing, finance, accounting, auditing, compliance, analytics, and/or sales operations
  •  High school diploma / GED and 8 years of experience in either government pricing, commercial contracting and/or pricing, finance, accounting, auditing, compliance, analytics, and/or sales operations
  • Experience modeling, analyzing, and validating large quantities of data transactions and drawing conclusions from that analysis.
  • Extensive experience with Excel and other analytical toolsets.
  • Experience working with SOX controls or other compliance protocols.
  • Demonstrated experience solving analytical and complex business problems
  • Comfort in dealing with ambiguity in determining an appropriate path forward.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
Summary
  • Job Summary Key member of the Contracts & Pricing Operations team within Trade Pricing and Contract Management specifically with the Managed Care Rebates team.
  • This position is primarily responsible for ensuring complete and accurate processing of managed care contractual rebates.
  • This position will use data that is obtained from GCPS and other sources to analyze requested information to support calculating and reporting accurate and timely contracted rebate payments to customers.
  • This position also requires a strong investigate skill and organization to prioritize multi competing interests.
  • Data collected requires monitoring, analysis, validation and loading into relevant systems.
  • Interaction with these outside parties and various internal departments is required.
  • Position operates within a fast-paced environment, and the ideal candidate will possess the ability to take initiative, problem solve, work independently and exercise appropriate business judgment.
  • Additional responsibilities include participation and perhaps leadership of planned and ad-hoc special projects within the Managed Care Rebates team, and Contract and Pricing Operations.
  • Interaction and strong communication with segment team members including, pricing, contract operations, contract development, and GCOIS is crucial.
  • Education and Experience
  • Bachelors degree highly preferred
  • Advanced degree a plus
  • 4+ years experience (6 or more a plus) in Sales & Marketing or Finance
  • Demonstrated track record of increasing responsibility Required Competencies and Skills Knowledge
