Day to Day Responsibilities:
  • Investigating third party Speaker Program data process to identify any process issues or errors, develop potential solutions, and work with the vendor to implement the solutions.
  • Developing and automating an enhanced data quality validation process for Speaker Program data in Redshift using Snaplogic.
  • Supporting Speaker Program operations and preparations for anticipated changes, including
  • Loading future alignments to facilitate scheduling for upcoming programs, ensuring that existing alignments and system functionality are not impacted.
  • Loading additional speakers into the system to facilitate scheduling for anticipated participants, as well as reconciling training information as it becomes available.
  • Supporting semester go-live activities, including loading alignments, programs, goals, and other elements as needed.
  • Discussing with key stakeholders at Amgen to frame the problem/issue and define the support required.
  • Investigating specific improvement requests and proposing approaches to those requests.
  • Implementing specific improvement requests.
  • Communicating and explaining results and providing supporting documentation.
Amgen is seeking a Specialist IS Business System Analyst at its main headquarters in Thousand Oaks, CA to join the Global Commercial Operations IS (GCOIS) Organization and provide subject matter expertise and technical leadership to assist the US Business Operations. The Specialist Business Analyst acts as an intermediary between the business and the technical communities working with IS project teams and business clients to collect, clarify, and translate business requirements into documentation and conceptual design (using appropriate tools and models) from which solutions are developed.
Department/Group introduction:
GCOIS is responsible for partnering with Amgen’s Global Commercial Operations organization to deliver technology services and solutions that achieve corporate strategies and business plans. This role will service US Business Operations (USBO).
Position Responsibilities:
  • Service Owner accountable for speaker program platform, integrations, steady state run activities and data generated by platform.
  • Contributes to the success of Global Commercial Operations IS functions by making fundamental improvements in how information is managed and business processes are operated.
  • Assist in developing the overall strategic direction, vision and standards around speaker program business services
  • Manage integration points with upstream and downstream systems
  • Lead platform related issue root cause analysis
  • Identify efficiencies and service support automation
  • Partner with business clients to develop and coordinate service level agreements, provide service KPIs and ensure ongoing application stability
Basic Qualifications
Doctorate degree
Master’s degree and 3 years of Information Systems and Business Analysis experience
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Information Systems and Business Analysis experience
Associate’s degree and 10 years of Information Systems and Business Analysis experience
High school diploma/GED and 12 years of Information Systems and Business Analysis experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with event management and speaker bureau platforms
  • Experience with API and database integrations
  • Ability to think strategically about technology and recommend solutions that align with business strategy and achieve the greatest business impact
  • Experience with IS technologies and processes
  • Leverages the combination of prior experience, problem solving skills, and client engagement skills to drive commercial operations business towards excellence
  • Ability to work in a changing environment, under pressure, handing multiple projects at once
  • Excellent Communication skills to communicate fluently across and up through organization, including escalation and mitigation of issues, risks and business impacts
  • Working understanding of sales and marketing and related strategy
  • Advanced problem solving capabilities and ability to use barriers as opportunities
  • Deep understanding of Agile and Lean Startup principles
  • Strong project management, scheduling, and requirements management skills and experience.
