Day to Day Responsibilities:  
Liaise with functional HR organizations in support of needs of given functions and programs related to areas such as talent development, retention and compensation

Build Internal Executive Search Capability
The HR consultant will work with Amgen to develop its internal executive search capabilities so as to reduce reliance on external executive search firms, while maintaining the high-level of candidate quality and strategic advisement internal clients (VPs and SVPs) have come to expect from executive search firms. This will include working to determine strategy and processes for internal search capability as well as developing the tools and templates needed for success. The HR Consultant will make recommendations on the executive positions with the highest ROI for an internal search process. The HR consultant will develop an annual roadmap with positions recommended for internal executive search based on workforce planning and assessment of ROI.

Act As Full-Service Executive Search Consultant
The HR consultant will act as a full-service, executive search consultant for Amgen’s internally driven executive searches. This will include establishing search strategy, target companies and directing initial sourcing of talent. Sourcing activity will include training and collaborating with Amgen sourcers on requirements and profiles for needed positions as well as educating assigned sourcer on internal Amgen context and selling points for the job and providing feedback on potential candidates identified. The HR consultant will also personally screen and evaluate potential Executive Director and Vice President candidates against key criteria for success in a given role, prior to forwarding to internal clients for consideration. The HR Consultant will serve as candidate developer by educating identified candidate on the specifics of the position and process for recruitment at Amgen as well as by influencing passive candidates to strongly consider an executive position at Amgen. Candidate assessment will include screening for required technical skills and needed leadership capabilities. The HR consultant will also negotiate the best Amgen-first offer which will secure the talent needed by the organization. This will require a good working knowledge of executive compensation in the pharma industry and ability to determine candidate drivers related to acceptance of an offer. Will utilize external resources for positions where ROI and needs of the organization indicate. Position requires knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and competing companies and how functions and major processes within a bio/pharma company operate. Excellent communication and influencing skills are required. Strong analytical skills and experience successfully running executive search and the ability to provide the high-touch, value-added counsel and talent advisement to senior level executives is needed.

Hr Business Partner To Ceo-Direct Reports & Related Organization (Formerly Hr Director)
HR Business Partner to three CEO direct reports (SVPs) and their respective organizations. Partner with and provide advisement on talent management, staff relations, organizational structure and other leadership and organizational topics. Lead and facilitate HR processes so that organization achieves maximum value for effort spent. Partner with SVPs to develop solutions and plans for organizational issues and opportunities which enable the best use of talent and help to create high performing teams. Act as an executive coach to Vice Presidents and Executive Directors on issues related to communication, leadership, staff management and other areas as needed. Liaise with functional HR organizations in support of needs of given functions and programs related to areas such as talent development, retention and compensation. Tailor corporate programs to meet functional needs. Provide support and advisement on organizational initiatives such as AFP projects. Most immediate project involves organizational structure design on the EVOLVE Corporate Affairs work stream. Position requires experience with and strong working knowledge of organizational design, talent management, leadership development, executive coaching which can be leveraged to provide value added support and guidance on these topics. Deep HR generalist experience supporting senior -level executives is also needed.
