Day to Day Responsibilities:     
  •  Perform routine analytical testing measuring host cell DNA in process development samples.
  • Analyze data and record in electronic notebooks.
  • Communicate results to clients and other team members.
  • Possible opportunity to cross-train within the group on Immunoassays/First 30 days: training on established lab protocols as well as electronic systems such as HELEE and PD-LIMS.

A temporary position is open within the Amgen Biological Relevance and Characterization group in Process Development, Cambridge, MA. We are seeking a highly motivated scientist to perform analytical testing in support of advancing novel large molecule products in Amgen’s pipeline. The initial duration of the contract is 3 years.This individual will perform immunoassays and other analytical tests to measure process-related impurities in samples undergoing purification process development and communicate results to internal clients. Job responsibilities include sample testing, method execution, operation of TECAN, troubleshooting, data analysis, documentation of results, and report writing. Experience with ELISA assays is required. Familiarity with method development, method qualification, TECAN, electronic
notebook, and cGMP requirements are desired. Prior experience with Quantitative PCR (qPCR) is a plus. Candidate should be highly organized and motivated, have strong communication and presentation skills and the ability to multi-task, and collaborate and work in teams.

Desired education:
Education for this position would typically include a M.S. or B.S. with several years of work experience in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field.
