Project Manager Senior
Location: Remote - Trenton, NJ
Employment Type: Contingent Worker (Contract, W2)
Contract Length: 6 months (possible extension)
Compensation: $47/$54 per hour (based on experience)
Summary of the Role
Join a dynamic precision medicine team at a big biopharma leader, focusing on rare diseases. As the Precision Medicine Program Manager, you will partner with senior stakeholders across R&D, advancing translational strategies and executing precision medicine plans. You will play a pivotal operational and strategic role, ensuring program and budget adherence while facilitating cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Precision Medicine Leads (PMLs) and Global Biomarker Leads (GBLs) to develop and manage integrated precision medicine plans.
- Track and manage the advancement of translational and reverse translational strategies.
- Oversee research collaborations and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and monitor program budgets, ensuring financial alignment.
- Maintain and track execution timelines to quickly identify deviations and escalate risks/issues as needed.
- Lead PMT meetings, define agendas, record minutes, track outcomes, and manage follow-ups.
- Serve as single point of contact for operationalizing biomarker strategy across clinical programs.
- Apply project management best practices throughout project lifecycle, ensuring on-time and in-scope delivery.
- Support the preparation of materials for cross-functional reviews and governance meetings.
- Drive risk management, effective communication, and integration between research, clinical, and platform teams.
Required Experience & Skills
- Demonstrated experience in program and project management within biopharma or healthcare settings.
- Strong financial management and budget tracking skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams in a matrix environment.
- Proficiency in MS Suite tools and project management software (e.g., Smartsheet, Planisware, SharePoint).
- Effective risk management, communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Experience operationalizing biomarker or translational/precision medicine strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical/scientific background with 6+ years’ experience in industry or academia.
- Pharma, consulting, or drug development experience, especially in research or clinical development.
- Expertise in cross-functional planning and program execution in healthcare.
- Emotional intelligence and ability to influence without authority in a matrix environment.
- Familiarity with project management and AI/ML tools relevant to biopharma.
- PMP certification preferred.
- Experience in finance/budget management and systems/business process management.
- Knowledge of SOPs, GCP, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

- Integrate inputs from senior scientific stakeholders and ensure alignment with project goals.

- Doctorate degree and 3 years of experience
- Masters degree and 5 years of experience
- Bachelors degree and 7 years of experience
- Associates degree and 12 years of experience
- High school diploma / GED and 14 years of experience
