Project Manager Senior

Summary of the Role

Join the Precision Medicine Strategic Planning and Operations team of a leading biopharmaceutical organization and support high-priority Technology and Workforce Strategy initiatives across end-to-end R&D processes. As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead complex cross-functional initiatives, facilitate executive discussions, and turn incomplete or ambiguous information into actionable plans and next steps.

This is a strategic project leadership role, not an administrative coordinator position. The ideal candidate is highly proactive, demonstrates strong critical thinking and executive presence, and can independently drive multiple initiatives forward with minimal direction.

This fully remote opportunity is open to candidates located anywhere in the United States. The role will generally follow an 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule. West Coast candidates should be willing to attend a recurring 7:00 AM PT Monday meeting. No regular weekend work or overtime is expected.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of Technology and Workforce Strategy initiatives within Precision Medicine
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects within scope, quality, time, budget, and business objectives
  • Translate incomplete or complex information into actionable project plans, recommendations, and next steps
  • Partner with Strategic Planning and Operations and workstream leaders to establish priorities and drive execution
  • Own recurring cross-functional meetings by gathering topics, building agendas, preparing materials, facilitating discussions, and documenting decisions
  • Facilitate meetings with Executive Directors, senior leaders, functional partners, and global stakeholders
  • Maintain project charters, plans, action trackers, decision logs, risk and issue logs, timelines, and status updates
  • Follow up with action owners, resolve barriers, and maintain accountability across workstreams
  • Map current-state and future-state Precision Medicine processes and clarify roles, handoffs, gaps, and decision points
  • Produce executive-ready presentations, memos, progress updates, and recommendations
  • Develop role-based learning and development plans using provided templates and leadership input
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and downstream impacts, escalating issues when appropriate

Required Experience & Skills

  • 5–7+ years of relevant project management experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience driving projects from planning through execution while managing multiple priorities
  • Highly proactive and able to move initiatives forward in ambiguous environments with minimal oversight
  • Strong critical thinking and ability to synthesize incomplete information into actionable plans
  • Ability to connect information, anticipate downstream impacts, and recommend next steps
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders, Executive Directors, and multiple stakeholder groups
  • Strong executive presence and experience facilitating leadership-level meetings
  • Experience creating project plans, charters, timelines, risk documentation, status updates, and executive-ready materials
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, business judgment, and professional maturity
  • Ability to collaborate across functions, cultures, and time zones, including colleagues based in India
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and MS Teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within biotechnology, pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare, or consulting environments supporting those industries
  • Experience managing workforce strategy, workforce build, R&D, or transformation initiatives
  • Demonstrated success navigating ambiguous and evolving business processes
  • Experience documenting current-state and future-state processes
  • Experience developing role-based curriculum or learning plans using business templates and leadership interviews
  • Familiarity with Research and Development processes in a science-based organization

A scientific, laboratory, wet-lab, or research background is not required. Business-oriented experience within biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, healthcare, or a related consulting environment is sufficient.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Partner with Strategic Planning and Operations and workstream leaders to establish priorities, manage timelines, and drive execution
  • Review available information, identify gaps, and determine the next actions required to maintain momentum
  • Prepare for and lead recurring cross-functional meetings with senior stakeholders
  • Develop agendas and meeting materials, facilitate discussions, and document decisions and action items
  • Follow up with action owners to confirm progress, resolve barriers, and maintain accountability
  • Maintain project plans, decision logs, action trackers, risk and issue logs, timelines, and status updates
  • Monitor progress and identify emerging risks, dependencies, and decisions required
  • Develop executive-ready presentations, memos, recommendations, and project updates
  • Document current-state and future-state Precision Medicine processes
  • Develop learning and development plans using provided templates and leadership input
  • Collaborate with U.S.-based and India-based colleagues across time zones

Basic Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree and 3 years of experience
  • Masters degree and 5 years of experience
  • Bachelors degree and 7 years of experience
  • Associates degree and 12 years of experience
  • High school diploma / GED and 14 years of experience

Experience is significantly more important than advanced education for this position. An MBA or PhD may be beneficial but is not required.
