Supplier Relationship Manager

Employment Type: Contingent Worker (Contract, W2)

Contract Length: 6 months (possible extension)

Compensation: Open Market Rate (based on experience)

Summary of the Role

Join a dynamic team with a big biopharma leader to oversee and drive strategic supply chain partnerships. In this role, you will manage supplier relationships, optimize end-to-end supply processes, and ensure high-quality, cost-effective supply meets business demand. You will play a key part in contract negotiations, process improvements, and risk management for global supply and operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a project manager to build and manage relationships with external suppliers, contract manufacturers, and partners
  • Oversee end-to-end supply processes to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality supply
  • Negotiate supplier agreements to optimize terms, costs, and service levels
  • Support supply chain planning, forecasting, and alignment with business objectives
  • Lead supplier issue resolution, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Drive efficiency and cost savings through process optimization and innovative solutions
  • Monitor supplier contracts, performance, and KPIs to ensure compliance and drive improvement
  • Identify supply risks and develop contingency plans for business continuity
  • Collaborate with procurement, quality, manufacturing, logistics, and finance teams
  • Present supply chain data and recommendations to senior leadership

Required Experience & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end supply chain operations, including planning, sourcing, logistics, and distribution
  • Proven supplier relationship management with contract negotiation and vendor performance oversight
  • Experience with inventory and capacity planning in a global environment
  • Project or program management skills, ideally within supplier management
  • Ability to identify and mitigate supply risks, developing contingency strategies
  • Strong negotiation, influencing, and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including presenting data to leadership
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
  • Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced supply chain or operations setting

1. Supply chain management expertise – strong knowledge of end-to-end supply chain operations, including planning, sourcing, logistics, and distribution

2. Supplier relationship management – ability to build, maintain, and negotiate with external suppliers, ensuring performance, compliance, and cost efficiency

3. Inventory & capacity planning – skills in managing supply levels to meet demand without overstocking or shortages

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage strategic relationships with key suppliers and partners
  • Manage full supply processes to meet dynamic business needs
  • Negotiate and monitor supplier contracts to drive cost-effective outcomes
  • Support forecasting and planning for operational alignment
  • Resolve supplier issues, ensuring corrective actions and process improvements
  • Continuously seek process innovations to improve efficiency and cost savings
