Project Manager

Thousand Oaks, CA

Location: Remote (CST preferred)

Employment Type: Contingent Worker (Contract, W2)

Contract Length: 8 months

Compensation: $44/$48 per hour (based on experience)

Summary of the Role

Lead and manage complex, strategic projects focused on ERP implementation within a large biotech pharmaceutical environment. Oversee all phases of the project life cycle, from planning and feasibility studies to implementation and quality assurance. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment with resource, scope, time, and deliverable requirements. Provide leadership in project tracking, issue escalation, and effective communication across teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage high-level, complex projects within scope, cost, quality, and time constraints
  • Allocate resources and guide all life cycle phases: feasibility, requirements, analysis, design, testing, planning, and implementation
  • Coordinate cross-functional project teams and ensure objective documentation
  • Drive process development and change management initiatives
  • Utilize MS Project, MS Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, and MS Teams for planning and collaboration
  • Communicate project milestones and potential risks proactively to stakeholders and teams
  • Deliver regular status updates and manage escalations for off-track activities

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing medium to large-scale projects
  • Extensive project and program management, especially with business use of systems/software
  • ERP implementation experience (SAP to SAP S/4HANA preferred)
  • Advanced planning, coordination, and tracking skills
  • Excellent communication skills with cross-program resources
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with project management best practices
  • Expertise in MS Project, MS Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, and MS Teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • ERP implementation experience with a focus on master data

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and track project workstream activities
  • Maintain continuous communication of milestones and deliverables within the team
  • Escalate risks and address off-track activities quickly
  • Provide timely status updates to leadership and team members

Basic Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree or
  • Master’s degree and 2 years of experience or
  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of experience or
  • Associate’s degree and 8 years of experience or
  • High school diploma / GED and 10 years of experience
