Location: Remote - Newbury Park, CA (PST preferred)

Employment Type: Contingent Worker (Contract, W2)

Contract Length: 12 months (possible extension)

Compensation: $43/$48 per hour (based on experience)

Summary of the Role

Join a large biotech pharmaceutical leader as a hands-on Data Analyst supporting R&D Business Operations. You will leverage your expertise with the Microsoft analytics ecosystem to pull, clean, automate, and visualize complex datasets for supplier management and business optimization. This role emphasizes hands-on execution, partnership with cross-functional stakeholders, and rapid development of data-driven digital tools that drive efficiency and innovation. Candidates must demonstrate strong real-world experience with analytics and automation platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards and visualizations for supplier performance tracking and business insights
  • Prototype and customize analytical applications using data science model outputs
  • Partner with business stakeholders to refine analyses and dashboard designs iteratively
  • Collaborate with IS and Data Engineering to align on robust data models and pipelines
  • Develop, monitor, and report key supplier performance metrics
  • Identify and implement process automation and AI-driven solutions to improve workflows
  • Explore, test, and adopt new tools and analytics methodologies as needed
  • Coordinate project delivery for analytics and automation initiatives on schedule

Required Experience & Skills

  • Hands-on expertise with Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, Excel, and SharePoint
  • Strong capabilities in building, cleaning, automating, and visualizing complex datasets
  • Proven track record developing automated data comparisons, dashboards, and alerting solutions
  • Experience independently delivering analytics solutions in technically demanding environments
  • Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities and deliver organized, timely work

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in biotech, biopharma, medical device, R&D, or supply chain environments
  • Familiarity with Tableau, Spotfire, or other advanced analytics/visualization tools
  • Interest in supplier management optimization and operational workflow enhancement
  • Passion for exploring and making sense of large, complex datasets
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and eagerness to learn new analytics tools and methods

Top 3 Must Have Skills

1. Data Visualization & Analytics: Power BI, Tableau (or Spotfire), dashboard and visualization expertise

2. Data Transformation & Management: Skilled in processing, filtering, cleaning, and restructuring large datasets (MS Lists, Power Apps)

3. Automation, AI & Advanced Tools: Experience with Power Automate, UiPath, and advanced Excel

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Deliver dashboards and tools for supplier performance and business insights
  • Rapidly iterate on analytical applications based on feedback
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and technical partners to ensure utility and alignment
  • Implement automation and AI to drive business process improvement
  • Continuously enhance reporting, automation, and analytics capabilities

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree & 2+ years of experience (Engineering, Operations, or Scientific)
