Senior Associate Project Manager
R&D Supplier Management & Performance Analytics
Location: Remote – U.S. (any time zone, standard business hours, Monday–Friday)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Contingent Worker (Contract, W2)
Compensation: $52 - $59 per hour (based on experience)
Summary of the Role
Join a large biotech pharmaceutical leader as a Senior Associate Manager/Manager in R&D Supplier Management & Performance Analytics (SMPA). You will oversee performance of outsourced R&D services, ensure supplier quality and stability across a global network, and deliver analytics and insights that drive continuous improvement. Ideal candidates bring pharma supplier management experience, strong organization and communication skills, and an analytical mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Relationship & Performance Management
Own relationships with external suppliers; influence processes, deliverables, and remediation plans
Lead supplier evaluation, qualification, and performance improvement to maintain a robust supply base
Cross-Functional Partnership
Build strong collaboration with R&D stakeholders to anticipate needs and resolve issues
Partner with corporate functions on study-level deliverables and contract-related alignment
Governance & Compliance
Contribute to updating policies, procedures, and standards; maintain inspection-ready documentation
Monitor supplier performance against defined metrics and drive continuous improvement strategies
Operational Excellence
Manage a global pool of suppliers balancing quality, agility, and value
Provide supplier performance analytics, insights, and reporting to enable data-informed decisions
Identify innovative ways to optimize supplier engagement models
Required Experience & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Science/Engineering, Data/Analytics, or related field
2+ years’ experience (or equivalent) in supplier/vendor management, CRO oversight, or R&D operations
Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; influence without direct authority
Analytical mindset with experience interpreting complex data and producing actionable insights
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in biomarker or bioanalytical sciences, CRO management, or supplier performance management
Pharma/biotech R&D background; familiarity with compliance expectations
Experience mentoring or leading teams
