Day to Day Responsibilities:    
  • Supports and communicates with end users to troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to electronic lab notebook and related software / instrument integrations with information systems.
  • Updates and develops training materials to support ongoing releases of new electronic lab notebook software. Delivers training in support of releases.
  • Supports development and execution of testing of new electronic laboratory notebook features leading up to releases.
  • Supports development and validation of Spotfire reports used to visualize experimental data.
Summary
This Company is searching for an associate-level scientist to function as a member of a drug product process development team. This role will be based remotely. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the development and deployment of information system (IS) technologies for drug product process development electronic laboratory notebook and laboratory instrument systems. Such technologies include:
Electronic lab notebook software
Lab instrument software across a broad range of instrument types and vendors
Data integration/analysis software using big data technology
Product lifecycle management software

In this role, the successful candidate:
Supports and communicates with end users to troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to electronic lab notebook and related software / instrument integrations with information systems.
Supports development and execution of testing of new electronic laboratory notebook features leading up to releases.
Updates and develops training materials to support ongoing releases of new electronic lab notebook software.
Delivers training in support of software releases.
Supports development and validation of Spotfire reports used to visualize experimental data.
This role provides development opportunities in the following areas:
Exposure to scientific and laboratory workflows at an industry leading pharmaceutical company – developing understanding of data generation and management for multiple modality (large molecules, small molecules, etc.) manufacturing process development.
Data integration development – establishing flow and visualization of laboratory data used to enable production of biopharmaceutical products.
Dynamic, matrixed organization and collaboration – interfacing with a broad array of partners on a routine basis, providing visibility to those other areas of the business and how these functions work together to meet organizational goals.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field focused in biochemistry, biology, or chemistry
  • Minimum 1 year laboratory experience in a professional or academic research environment focused on biology, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, or engineering with rigorous documentation of experimental protocols and results
  • Broad knowledge of various lab instruments and associated software packages
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and work in a team

Preferred Qualifications
  • Skilled in the use of standard laboratory equipment and with one or more major laboratory instruments / techniques, such as HPLC, and with associated software such as Empower or Chromeleon.
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical laboratory environment.
  • Experience with electronic laboratory notebook, such as Biovia Workbook or IDBS, and related software, such as Pipeline Pilot.
  • Demonstrated ability to train others in the use of laboratory or other software.
  • Experience with GMP business processes, e.g., OQ/IQ/Validation.
  • Experience in a role that requires influencing cross functional groups to achieve results.
  • Experience with MiniTab, JMP, Tibco Spotfire, or other data analysis software.
  • Knowledge of coding in SQL, Python, R, Java, etc.
  • Experience with big data technology such as Amazon Cloud Services, Datalakes, etc. and automation of data flows
