Strategic Sourcing Manager

Day to Day Responsibilities: 
  • Serve as the primary expert for the Sourcing organization in the categories managed
  • Work with Business Areas and Stakeholders to identify new areas of process improvement
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs that impact Cost of Goods Manufactured
Job summary:
  • Manages the staff of a category group and the overall procurement processes of a group of goods and services, to meet the needs of internal customers.
  •  
  •  Must sit on site, M-F, this is not a remote position so the candidates must be local or able to relocate themselves to the area 
FUNCTIONS
  • Serve as the primary expert for the Sourcing organization in the categories managed
  • Work with Business Areas and Stakeholders to identify new areas of process improvement
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs that impact Cost of Goods Manufactured
  • Modify or implement methods that lead to Process improvements to our Operations
  • Apply Lean and Operational Excellence Principles
  • Establish and lead cross-functional sourcing team in selection of suppliers and negotiations
  • Create and manage RFPx using electronic systems, i.e. ARIBA, SAP
  • Experience in negotiating new or revised Master Agreements with key Suppliers
  • Analyze Supplier’s data to assess Supplier’s financial stability risk
  • Interact with Corporate Risk Management to assess Insurance policy coverage
  • Interact with Legal to find resolution in Terms and Conditions with Suppliers
  • Establish metrics and KPIs to monitor supplier performance stability and monitor potential risks
  • Execute orders once implementation criteria have been achieved Bachelor degree in Engineering or Materials Management and 5 years of directly related experience or Master degree and 3 years of directly related experience
  • C.P.M. (Certified Purchasing Manager) from I.S.M. (Institute of Supply Management) preferred COMPETENCIES/SKILLS
  • Excellent organizational, project management, communication (written and verbal), and leadership / management skills
  • Healthcare industry experience and/or subject matter expert in specific field
  • Extensive knowledge of category management practices and principles
  • Expertise in supplier and contracts development and negotiations
  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing and supplier alliance implementation
  • Knowledge of Supplier Relationship Management
  • In-depth supplier/industry analysis experience to manage a dynamic/volatile Category(ies)
  • Extensive Category (industry / market) knowledge
  • Financial data knowledge
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills
