Business Performance Manager

Day to Day Responsibilities:    
  • Developing a strong partnership with the initiative lead and FTO liaison to move the initiative through the implementation and sustainability gates
  • Overall initiative project management, including successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring and closure of the initiative and/or initiative work streams
  • Overall data analytics, including the ability to distill complex data sets into a logical-concise message for key stakeholders
  • Overall technical writing and editor for the business process playbook and quarterly newsletter
  • Coordinate and co-facilitate working sessions (ideation, interdependencies, engagement, etc.) with key stakeholders when required
Summary:
  • The Operations Functional Transformation Office (FTO) is an integrated part of the Amgen Operations responsible for chartering the course on transformation initiatives.
  • FTO implements programmatic systems and processes, advance organizational capability development, and execute projects aligned with the functions’ strategic objectives to ensure long term success through continuous improvement and transformational capabilities.
  • The Operations FTO is also linked to the Results Delivery Office (RDO) which is responsible to ensure all FTO initiatives are relevant to Amgen’s strategic objectives.
  • This role reports to the FTO Initiative lead and is responsible for:
  • Developing a strong partnership with the initiative lead and FTO liaison to move the initiative through the implementation and sustainability gates
  • Overall initiative project management, including successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring and closure of the initiative and/or initiative work streams
  • Overall data analytics, including the ability to distill complex data sets into a logical-concise message for key stakeholders
  • Overall technical writing and editor for the business process playbook and quarterly newsletter
  • Coordinate and co-facilitate working sessions (ideation, interdependencies, engagement, etc.) with key stakeholders when required
  • Clear communications with key stakeholders, including the ability to adapt the message to various audiences
  • Effectively participating in local and network teams, build constructive relationships and collaborate with internal and external partners, as needed
  • Developing and/or delivering reports, presentations and/or recommendations to the initiative lead and key stakeholders
  • Overall initiative problem solving including navigating through ambiguity to resolve complex issues within area of expertise
  • Delivering results in line with Amgen values
Desired Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in Lean, Six Sigma and other Operational Excellence methodologies, business productivity initiatives and/or financial planning is a plus
  • Have strong oral and written communication skills, including ability to storyline and prepare
  • executive-level discussion documents
  • Excellent conceptual problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to bring structure to vaguely defined problems, pragmatically scope problem solving approach, and manage execution
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytic skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in teams with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work under some supervision in a matrix environment
  • Working under some supervision in line with Amgen Values and Leadership Attributes
  • Experience as a member of a high performing team
Education Required:
  • B.S. or B.A.
